Diary of A Gardener Yes, Another Hurricane

Just as one hurricane came through and left a trail of destruction, another is now strengthening and heading toward Florida’s west coast this week. The constant need to stay vigilant—preparing, rearranging schedules, and protecting not only my home but also my clients' homes—is exhausting. This storm has me feeling more on edge, especially with the stronger winds. While we don't live in a flood-prone area, the devastation caused by record-breaking storm surges last week is still fresh in my mind, and it could happen again if Hurricane Milton hits just north or directly on us. I. AM. TIRED.

I've been busy prepping my garden—moving pots, tilting them over, securing small items so they don’t become projectiles. Helping my husband put up storm shutters, making sure we have gas, stocking up on non-perishable food… and trying to stay sane with a potential Category 3 hurricane on the way is no small feat.

If you’re in its path, I’m sending you lots of love and protection. See you on the other side of this. May you and your gardens stay safe this week.
